Holmatro annual mainteance

It's time for tool maintenance to optimize your equipment's longevity.

Follow our checklist below to ensure you're properly changing the hydraulic oil and covering all of the tool PM services.

Change Hydraulic Oil

Keeping a hydraulic system and hydraulic oil free from dirt and particles is one of the biggest challenges fire/rescue services face.

Today's high-technology pumps require clean hydraulic oil to keep critical working parts lubricated and wear-free. Dirt and particles contaminating a system, whether from the oil or the operating conditions, cause equipment to break down and shorten the equipment's life.

Core & Twinline Tools and Power Units

  • To optimize equipment life, hydraulic oil should be changed at least once a year in Core & Twinline tools and power units.
  • Depending on use, dusty conditions, and temperatures, some hydraulic systems may require changing the hydraulic oil more frequently.

EVO3 & Pentheon

  • For closed systems, hydraulic oil should be changed every three years.
  • Depending on the use of the tool, the hydraulic oil may require changing more frequently, like once a year during annual PM service.

Tool PM Service

Follow the checklist below:

  • Check carrying handle for: LED lights, damage or deformation, correct fastening
  • Check Spreader Arms, Cutter, and Combi Blades for: Damage or deformation, remove any upsets or burrs from the blades, proper functioning of the locking mechanism of spreader tips, and clean and de-grease arms and blades
  • Check retaining rings and hinge pins for: damage, corrosion, wear, and tear
  • Check and clean I-bolt, look for: deformation, and damages
  • Check the center pin for: damage, corrosion, wear and tear, and hinge pin fretting into the levers
  • Check blade-holder/plunger for: visible damage and wear
  • Check the tools spreading tips for: damage, deformed or damaged teeth, corrosion, functionality of the locking pin
