Reports To: Fire Safety-Sales and Service Manager 

Job Type: Full-time

 

Position Overview: The Fire and Safety Service Technician is responsible for delivering on-site service, inspection, maintenance, and distribution of fire extinguishers and related fire safety equipment to customers. This role ensures compliance with all fire and safety regulations while providing excellent customer service and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, test, maintain, and service portable fire extinguishers and related safety equipment at customer locations.

  • Ensure compliance with NFPA, OSHA, DOT, and local fire codes.

  • Document inspection results, service records, and compliance tags.

  • Deliver and install new fire extinguishers and related equipment as needed.

  • Educate customers on fire extinguisher usage and safety compliance.

  • Maintain assigned service vehicle, equipment, and tools.

  • Provide professional customer service and build long-term client relationships.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Previous experience in fire safety services, mechanical work, or related technical field preferred (will train the right candidate).

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and work in a variety of environments (indoors, outdoors, customer facilities).

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to complete accurate documentation.

  • NICET, DOT, or state fire extinguisher licenses/certifications a plus (or willingness to obtain).

 

Physical Demands:

  • Requires the use of safety gear and compliance with OSHA standards.

  • Field-based, with daily travel to customer sites.

  • Exposure to warehouse, industrial, and professional environments.

  • Occasional exposure to pressurized equipment, chemicals, and confined spaces

  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

  • Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, and handling of tools and equipment.

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
