OSHA requires a Personal Fall Arrest System (PFAS) or Ladder Safety System for any fixed ladder extending more than 24 feet. Ladders built before November 2018 were previously permitted to use cages as fall protection, but OSHA's Walking-Working Surfaces rule now mandates a transition to modern safety systems. Fixed ladders installed after November 19, 2018 must immediately utilize a ladder safety system or PFAS — cages are no longer accepted as primary fall protection. Join us to learn what's changing and how to keep your team compliant and protected.
