Sewing Machine Operator / Part-time 2nd shift

Job Summary: As a Sewing Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating sewing machines to produce high-quality garments and textile products. You will follow detailed instructions and patterns to ensure that each item meets the required specifications and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, technical skill, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate industrial sewing machines and other related equipment.

  • Adjust machine settings and stitch types according to specific patterns and production requirements.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot sewing machines to ensure optimal performance.

  • Read and interpret sewing patterns, blueprints, and production orders.

  • Measure, cut, and prepare fabric pieces for sewing.

  • Assemble, join, and finish fabric components according to design specifications.

  • Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring they meet quality standards.

  • Make necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure high-quality output.

  • Report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor for resolution.

  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on sewing machines and equipment.

  • Keep the work area organized and free of hazards.

  • Work collaboratively with other sewing machine operators and team members.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments to ensure smooth workflow.

  • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.

  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Proven experience as a sewing machine operator or in a similar role.

  • Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines and related equipment.

  • Strong understanding of sewing techniques, patterns, and fabric types.

  • Ability to measure accurately and follow detailed instructions.

  • Ability to understand Manufacturing Work Order (MOs).

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a face paced environment. 

  • Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to stand for long periods.

  • Capability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.

  • Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
